Onboarding Process
Thank you for your interest in joining GT Cycling! Especially when it comes to joining the Mountain Bike (MTB) Team, onboarding as soon as possible is important, considering that the first race is only 5 days after the first day of class. However, you can still onboard at any point during the year.
Step 1: Contact The Team
Fill out this Google Form to let us know you’re interested, which will help leadership contact you. Feel free to contact us through email (gatechcycling@gmail.com) or Instagram (@gtcycling) to further connect and ask any questions you may have about riding for us.
Step 2: Pay Team Dues
For full transparency, these dues are only used for team expenses and are an essential baseline for securing additional funding through Georgia Tech. We have two categories of dues:

– Race fees covered, including national championships (if qualified)

– GT Cycling race kit (mandatory purchase for your first year with us)
– GT Cycling T-Shirt
– All team camps and organized casual rides
– Access to shared team bikes
– Exclusive discounts from our sponsors
– A killer crew to ride and race with!
Recreational Dues ($50/year):
– 1 Race fee covered
– USA Cycling day-long membership
– Transportation and lodging covered for 1 race
– GT Cycling T-Shirt

Step 3: Join Ideal-Logic
This step makes you an official member of GT Cycling and must be completed to be able to ride with us. This supplies Georgia Tech’s Campus Recreational Center (CRC) with the medical clearance and team forms that are legally required for you to be a part of a club team.
1: Visit Ideal-Logic
2: Log in with Georgia Tech Credentials
3: Click on the “Clubs” tab and join “Cycling”
4: Go back to the “Home” tab and complete the “Cycling Membership Form”
– If you are running into a recreational membership/student ID error, continue with remaining steps, and come back to this step ASAP once the school year begins.
5: Click on the “Medical History Form” and download the Medical History Packet PDF
6: Print and fill out the first 2 pages (we’ll also provide them during the interest meeting)
7: Book a sports physical appointment and bring the 3 pages with you. Here is our top 3 recommendations within walking distance of Georgia Tech with readily available times:
– AllCare (Northside for West campus and Midtown for East campus): $40
– Piedmont QuickCare Midtown: $38 (19 or younger) or $60 (20 or older)
– Concentra Midtown: $128 (takes walk-in visits if in a time crunch)
8: Scan or take clear pictures of the 3 pages, combine them into a PDF, and finish the Medical History Form
Step 4: Meet the team
Meeting the team and introducing yourself to the officers of the MTB and/or Road teams will be your next gateway to further communication on the following:
– Groupchats
– Contacts
– Calendars
– Additional cycling category-specific forms
The best first step of meeting us in person is stopping by RecFest during Week of Welcome (August 19th from 11:30 AM – 2:30 PM) and attending an interest meeting (times listed above)
If you are unavailable for these opportunities or the time already passed, please join our community’s WhatsApp, and an officer will help get you acquainted.
