Riding while taking classes at Tech is a challenge, but we always set aside time to train. Come on out to one of our weekday rides, meet the team and start riding in Atlanta! These are the usual rides and times, but they can change from week to week and season to season. Check the calendar or contact us if you want to attend.
Read the description next to the ride to see if it’s right for you. If you’re unsure of your ability, play it safe and ask us first before coming out and getting dropped, because that’s no fun. The Monday Recovery Ride is always a great start for everyone.
All rides leave from the front of the CRC unless otherwise stated. Mountain rides and Dick Lane Racing Nights are organized per week with a driver.
If you’re just looking to go it alone, plug our routes into your GPS Device, we’ve got lots of Atlanta routes and more on the GT Cycling Ride With GPS site.
Current Schedule For Rides (as of 11/9/2021):
- Monday’s at 4:00pm (likely till 5:30pm)
Chill pace ride on Mash to Brash loop. ~12.5 miles with rolling elevation. Good for beginners and newer members. The two hills can be ridden harder/faster than group but there will be regrouping afterwards. No drop otherwise.
- Wednesday’s at 4:00pm (likely till 6:00pm)
Faster ride on Buckhead Chastain Park CCW. ~26.7 miles with rolling elevation. Good for more experienced riders. No drop ride but cruising pace. “Sprint points” (with regrouping afterwards) can be determined after the group gets settled down some and I get a sense of who is showing up.
- Saturday’s at 8am (will vary but till 10-2 depending on ride)
Longer weekend ride on varying route. We will try to cycle through varying rides to keep things interesting. For most of the Fall season, these will be ridden at a cruising pace (Zone 2 if that means anything to you). The goal will be length over intensity to start out. Routes will likely be 40 miles and above. As the semester progresses we will work towards having 2 distance lengths while still keeping the group together as much as possible to accommodate as many people as we can.
